This weekend we are celebrating our 15th Easter as a Church. Each previous Easter has been unique and held something special.
This year’s theme is “Easter Reminds Me.” While not holding quite the same place on Memory Lane as Christmas, Easter is still a special holiday that brings back recollections from our past. Many of us recall egg hunts and family gatherings, while others, who grew up in the church, remember Easter outfits and packed pews. I have to admit that I still have a special place in my heart for marshmallow chicks and hollow chocolate bunnies!
Even more than family, food and a great excuse for shopping, Easter reminds me that God is still really big, that His love is completely amazing and that He is the hope for our world. Thank you for choosing to celebrate the risen savior Jesus Christ with us today. We pray that this Easter 2012 will always remind you of a new day in your life when hope became more real and the future looked brighter.
